A man has been arrested for “acting suspiciously” after claims there was an attempted child abduction at the GlasGlow light show in Glasgow.
Police Scotland said “no child was taken” but confirmed an investigation was under way and that a 30-year-old man had been charged in connection with a breach of the peace.
A family, including a two-year-old, were at the event hosted in the Botanic Gardens in the city’s West End on Sunday night.
They called the police after their child was allegedly approached by a man before they exited GlasGlow.
Police Scotland said officers were called to Great Western Road at around 8.25pm following reports of an incident.
A 30-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a breach of the peace. He is due to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Police did not provide further information when asked.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.25pm on Sunday, November 9, 2025, we received a report of a man acting suspiciously on Great Western Road, Glasgow.
“Officers attended and a 30-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a breach of the peace. He will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal. No child was taken.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
A spokesperson for GlasGLOW said: “On the evening of November 9, we had reports of an incident at the gates of the Botanic Gardens.
“Our on-site security team alerted Police Scotland who were in attendance within minutes. Any further enquiries should be directed to Police Scotland.”
