Man arrested for 'assaulting medical staff and police' at Old Firm match

A man has been arrested for assaulting medical staff and police during Sunday’s Old Firm match.

Celtic and Rangers faced off for the second week in a row, with a first-half strike by Ryan Naderi taking Derek McInnes’ side to within two points of the Hoops at the top of the table going into the international break.

Officers at Parkhead arrested a 39-year-old man at the game for assault of medical staff and police assault.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

Rangers cruised to a 3-0 Premier Sports Cup win over the Hoops at Ibrox last Sunday and, in the William Hill Premiership rematch, secured a second win.
