Police ScotlandA man has been arrested in connection with the death of an 82-year-old woman in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called around 4am on Saturday to a report of a woman injured in Cardowan Road in the Carntyne area of the city.
Elizabeth Colligan, known as Betty, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers have arrested a 30-year-old man, who STV News understands to be her grandson, Grant McKinnon, in connection with the death.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed investigations are ongoing.
The force was previously searching for McKinnon, who was last seen in the area at the same time as the incident.
Members of the public were urged not to approach the 30-year-old and to call police immediately if he was spotted.
