A man has been attacked and robbed by a gang near a sports centre in Wishaw.
The attack happened around 2.35pm on Wednesday afternoon on Alexander Street in the town.
A gang of three to four men wearing dark clothing were involved in the attack, and the group later made off with the man’s bag and necklace in the direction of Belhaven Road.
Police said the 25-year-old victim was left “shaken” by the assault and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Detective Constable White, Motherwell CID, said: “Thankfully the man was not injured but he was left very shaken from this attack, and we are carrying out significant enquiries to trace those responsible.
“The area would have been busy at the time, and I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch with us.
“Similarly, any drivers with dash-cam footage which may assist our enquiries should also contact us.”
