A bus driver has been charged after a man was killed while crossing a road in East Renfrewshire.
Officers were alerted on September 1, 2023, after a 73-year-old was hit by a bus while crossing Orchard Drive, at its junction with Fenwick Road in Giffnock.
Emergency services attended however the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Eight months after the incident, police confirmed a 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.
A report is set to be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland: “A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences following a fatal road crash in Giffnock on Friday, September 1, 2023.
“Around 4.50pm a 73-year-old man was crossing Orchard Drive, at its junction with Fenwick Road, when he was struck by a bus.
“Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The 24-year-old man will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.”
