A man has been charged after a laser was shone at a police helicopter in Glasgow.
The helicopter was flying over Giffnock around 12.05am on Wednesday when the light was shone from the Mount Florida area.
Officers attended a local address, and a 55-year-old man was arrested and charged.
A report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.
Inspector Scott Anderson said: “Thankfully, these actions did not result in anyone coming to harm, however, showing such a disregard for safety is incredibly dangerous.
“Aircraft should always be able to operate safely and without distraction.
“Such incidents are not only extremely dangerous and reckless, they are also criminal acts. If you witness a laser being shone at an aircraft, please contact police immediately.”
