A man has been charged after a “serious assault” in Renfrewshire left another man in hospital.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident that happened in the Phoenix Place area of Johnstone at around midday on Sunday.
Police confirmed a 29-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the attack.
The man is expected to appear in Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.
Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.10pm on Sunday, February 11, 2024 officers were called to a report of a serious assault in the Phoenix Place area of Johnstone.
“Emergency services attended and a 29-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
“A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
“He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, February 12, 2024.”
