A man has been charged after a shopkeeper fended off an armed robber in East Kilbride.
The incident happened shortly after 12.30pm on Monday, August 17, at the Day Today store on Alloway Road in the town.
Last month, STV News spoke to shopkeeper Bikrant Malhotra, who claimed a masked man entered the store demanding money. He was allegedly in possession of a machete.
There were no injuries as a result of the incident, but a quantity of alcohol and scratch cards were taken.
Police have now charged a 29-year-old man in connection with the incident.
He is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
