A man has been charged after a taxi ploughed into four pedestrians in Glasgow city centre.

The four women were on Union Street at its junction with Gordon Street around 1.50pm on October 5 when they were struck by the vehicle.

Two women, aged 60 and 61, as well as the male driver of the taxi, aged 62, were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

A 50-year-old woman was also assessed by paramedics at the scene.

The 62-year-old driver of the taxi has since been charged in connection with road traffic offences.

He is due to appear in court at a later date.
