A man has been charged after a detached trailer struck a pram in Dumfries, leaving a baby and two toddlers with serious injuries last year.
Emergency services attended the scene of the crash on Pleasance Avenue around 3.15pm on Monday, October 13, 2025.
The trailer is believed to have become detached from a Mitsubishi Outlander car before striking the pram, which was being pushed on the pavement by a teenager.
An eight-month-old baby, a 14-month-old toddler and an 18-month-old toddler were all taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, before later being transferred to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Glasgow.
Their injuries were described as serious. All three were later discharged from hospital.
The 18-year-old woman, who was pushing the pram, was understood to be a staff member at nearby Gracie Drew Nursery.
She was also taken to hospital for treatment and released.
Six months on from the crash, a 71-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
He has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
