A man has been charged in connection with a murder investigation after a man died from serious injuries outside a school in Greenock.
Michael Beaton was found on Drumfrochar Road near St Patrick’s Primary at around 7.20pm on Sunday, November 26.
He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he died a few hours later.
On Sunday, December 3, a 25-year-old man was charged in connection with Mr Beaton’s death.
The man is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, December 4, 2023.
Detectives previously said they believed Mr Beaton had been knocked down by a car and attacked with a bladed weapon.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A 25-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of Michael Beaton in Greenock.
“The 35-year-old was found with serious injuries on Drumfrochar Road around 7.20pm on Sunday, November 26, 2023. He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he died a few hours later.
“The 25-year-old man is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, December 4, 2023.”
