Man charged as police recover £43,000 of heroin in Kilmarnock raid

A man has been charged after police uncovered a stash of heroin during raids in Kilmarnock.

Officers from the Serious Organised Crime Team executed search warrants on properties on Loreny Drive and Leslie Place on Thursday morning.

Quantities of heroin were recovered, with an estimated street value of around £43,000, along with other drugs paraphernalia.

The 37-year-old man is expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Friday, September 18.

Detective Sergeant John White said: “We know that drug misuse and crime is a concern to our local people and we are committed to tackling issues which affects our communities.

“We will continue to pursue those who are involved in dealing these harmful substances, and support those involved in drug misuse alongside our healthcare and social partners.

“Information from the public is vital to help us continue this work and I’d ask anyone with concerns or information about drug crime in their area to report this to us.
