A man has been charged in connection with an alleged hate crime following an anti-immigration protest in Glasgow.

The demonstration took place on Craigton Road in the Govan area of the city at around 9pm on Tuesday.

Police attended, and the group later dispersed.

Officers arrested and charged a 32-year-old man in connection with a hate crime. A report is due to be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9pm on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, we were made aware of protest activity in the Craigton Road area of Glasgow.

“Officers attended and those gathered later dispersed.

“A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a hate crime. He will be reported to the procurator fiscal.”
