A man has been charged over the death of an 82-year-old grandmother in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called around 4am on Saturday to a report of a woman injured in Cardowan Road in the Carntyne area of the city.
Elizabeth Colligan, known as Betty, was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Tuesday evening, officers arrested a 30-year-old man, who STV News understands to be Ms Colligan’s grandson, Grant McKinnon, in connection with her death.
The arrest took place on Cardowan Road.
Gary ReedThe man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed investigations are ongoing.
Detective chief inspector David Lamont said: “Our thoughts remain with Elizabeth’s family and friends during this very difficult time.

The force was previously searching for McKinnon, who was last seen in the area at the same time as the incident.
Members of the public were urged not to approach the 30-year-old and to call police immediately if he was spotted.
