STV NewsA man has been charged with attempted murder after he and a two-year-old boy were hit by a train at a Glasgow station on Sunday.
Emergency crews were called to Garrowhill shortly before 7.30pm on July 2 following reports of two people injured on the tracks.
A 26-year-old man and the child were taken to hospital; the boy’s injuries were minor, and he was discharged earlier this week.
The man was discharged from hospital on Thursday, after being arrested on Monday night under suspicion of attempted murder.
He has now been charged with attempted murder, and will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday.
Detective chief Inspector Marc Francey said: “This was a shocking but isolated incident and we are not looking for anyone else in connection.
“Specially trained officers are supporting the young boy’s family and it is thankfully now believed he will make a full recovery.
“Our investigation continues to establish the full circumstances of the incident and we are making a number of enquiries.
