Suspect charged with murder of man found injured outside his home

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who was discovered seriously injured outside his home in North Ayrshire.

Emergency services were called to Pollock Crescent, in Kilwinning, at around 1.55pm on Friday after they received reports of an injured man.

John Taylor, from Kilwinning, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators confirmed they were treating the 44-year-old’s death as murder following a post-mortem.

Kiey O’Connor appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Wednesday in connection with Mr Taylor’s death.

The 26-year-old was charged with murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

O’Connor made no plea and was remanded in custody. He is due to reappear in court within the next eight days.
