A man has been charged in connection with the murder of a woman at a flat in East Kilbride.
Louise Aitchison was discovered inside her home in Park Terrace, West Mains, at around 4.30pm on Thursday after concerns for her were reported to the police.
The 33-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance crew.
Following a post-mortem on Saturday her death is now being treated as murder.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with Ms Aitchison’s death and is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
Detective inspector Sandy MacKinnon said: “Our thoughts are with Louise’s family at this incredibly difficult time and we are keeping them fully updated on the progress of our enquiries.
“As we continue to seek answers for them, I urge anyone who may have information which could be relevant to contact us or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.”
