A man has died after falling from a building in a South Lanarkshire.

Police were called to the scene on Almada Street in Hamilton on Friday following the incident.

A 35-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene around 3.35pm.

The road and surrounding areas were closed to drivers while investigations were carried out.

They later re-opened on Saturday morning.

Officers say a post mortem examination will take place however the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.35pm on Friday, October 21, a 35-year-old man fell from a building in Almada Street, Hamilton. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, which is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
