A man has died following a two-car crash on the A75, with a stretch of the road closed for over 15 hours.
Emergency services responded to the collision on the A75 Gretna to Stranraer Road near Dalscone roundabout in Dumfries at around 11.30am on Sunday, March 3.
The 29-year-old male driver of a white Ford Fiesta was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
A 67-year-old female driver of a Vauxhall Corsa was uninjured in the collision.
Police Sergeant David Kerr: “Our inquiries are continuing to understand the full circumstances of what happened.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.
“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.
“The road re-opened at 3am on Monday, March 4, 2024.
“I want to thank members of the public for their patience while we investigated this serious collision.”
