A man has died in hospital after being found injured within a property in East Ayrshire.

Emergency services were called to Campbeltown Drive in Kilmarnock around 4.15pm on Saturday.

A 48-year-old man who was found injured within a property was taken to hospital, where he died a short time later.

Police said the death is being treated as unexplained.

Officers remain at the scene on Sunday and enquiries into the death are ongoing.

Chief Inspector Helen Downie said: “Police received a report of a 48-year-old man having been found injured within a property on Campbeltown Drive in Kilmarnock around 4.15pm on Saturday, 31 January, 2026.

“The man was taken to hospital, where he died a short time later.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
