A man has died in hospital after being found seriously injured outside a primary school in Greenock.
Emergency services found a 35-year-old man with serious injuries on Drumfrochar Road at around 7.20pm on Sunday.
He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later.
Police Scotland confirmed the death is being treated as unexplained at this time.
It comes after Inverclyde Council revealed that St Patrick’s Primary was closed on Monday with pupils asked to attend other schools instead.
Drumfrochar Road, outside the school, remains closed to the public with a police cordon being in place.
Parts of Broomhill Street and Cornhaddock Street where they meet Drumfrochar Road are also closed.
