A man has been left in critical condition following a rush hour crash in North Lanarkshire.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 6.40am on Monday, November 27, after a collision involved a white Ford Transit van.
The collision took place on the northbound carriageway near to Belziehill roundabout.
The one-vehicle collision resulted in a 55-year-old man being taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment where his condition has been described as critical.
Police Scotland has appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as the crash continued to cause traffic chaos.
Traffic Scotland confirmed that the road had reopened at around midday on Monday.
Police sergeant John Houston of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our investigation into the cause of this crash is ongoing.
“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.
“The road re-opened at 11.45am on Monday. I want to thank members of the public for their patience while we investigated this serious collision.”
The incident is one of two crashes that happened on the A275 on Monday.
The second incident happened near Blantyre around 11.40am.
Transport Scotland confirmed that the northbound carriageway was closed before reopening at 4.17pm.
