A man is fighting for his life following a serious crash involving a car and motorbike in Oban.
Officers were alerted to the incident that happened around 5.30pm on Thursday on the A85 Dunollie Road.
Emergency services attended the scene of the crash which involved a black Kawasaki ZX1400 motorbike and a white Toyota Hilux.
Police confirmed the rider of the motorbike, a 63-year-old male, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where his condition is described as “critical”.
The driver of the car was not injured.
The road was closed to allow for investigations to be carried out and re-opened around 11.40pm.
The force is now urging anyone with information regarding the crash to come forward.
Sergeant Scott Miller said: “Our enquiries are ongoing, and I am appealing for anyone who has any information to contact us.
“I would particularly appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and who witnessed the crash and has not already spoken to officers or who has dash cam footage which may assist to get in touch.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 2562 of July 4, 2024.”
