Two people have been left in hospital after a silver Vauxhall Astra collided with a tree in West Dunbartonshire on Saturday.

A man is fighting for his life and another man has serious injuries after a car smashed into a tree in West Dunbartonshire.

Officers were called to the crash, involving a silver Vauxhall Astra, in Jamestown at around 3.15pm on Saturday.

The driver of the car, a 39-year-old man, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is in a life threatening condition.

A 39-year-old man, the passenger, was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment. His injuries are described as serious.

The road was closed for around ten hours.

Sergeant Scott Miller, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: Our enquiries into this crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have information to get in touch.

“We would be particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash.

“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 2038 of March 15, 2025.”
