A man is in hospital after falling from a window trying to get away from two armed suspects in Johnstone.

Police received a report of two men seen with weapons outside a flat in Graham Street around 3.35pm on Tuesday.

A 28-year-old man was injured after falling from a window as he was trying to escape from the armed men.

Emergency services attended and he was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

Extensive enquiries are under way to locate the men involved, police said.

Officers are carrying out door-to-door enquiries and are reviewing CCTV footage for any additional information on the men involved.

Detective Constable Jade Clark said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area on Tuesday afternoon, in particular, anyone with doorbell recording equipment or dash-cam users. Please can you check your footage for any images which could assist our investigation.”
