A man is in hospital and another has been arrested following a serious assault in West Dunbartonshire.
Police received a report of an assault at around 11.15pm on Sunday June 30 in the Steven Street area of Alexandria.
A 37-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection and released pending further enquiries.
Detective sergeant Kieran Bewick said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are keen to speak to anyone in the area at the time who can assist.
“As part of our investigation we are also asking anyone with private CCTV that could help to get in touch and if you were driving in the area then please check your dash-cam to see if there is anything that could assist officers.”
