A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Glasgow.

Police closed down Carmunnock Road at around 5pm on Thursday after a 66-year-old man was struck by a black Audi A1.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment, where he remains in a serious condition.

No one else was injured in the incident and the road reopened around 11.30pm.

Sergeant Jack Swindells said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this crash and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to contact us.

“In addition, anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage around the time of the incident is asked to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting reference 2287 of December 4, 2025.
