A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being struck by a car on a Glasgow motorway.
Emergency services were called to the M74 southbound between junction 1 and junction 1A for Tradeston around 6.55pm on Saturday evening.
A 36-year-old man was struck by a black Volkswagon ID5 car in the incident.
The man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where his condition is described as serious, but stable.
No one else was injured in the incident.
The motoway was closed southbound for investigations to be carried out, and later reopened around 11.20pm.
Sergeant Adnan Alam said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are keen to speak to anyone in the area at the time, including on the flyover on Cathcart Road, who may have seen what happened.
“We are also asking anyone driving in the area to check any dash-cam they have to see if they have captured something that could assist with our investigation.”
