Man injured after being attacked near subway station

Police are investigating after a man was assaulted near Ibrox subway station.

A man has been taken to hospital after being injured in a daylight attack near a Glasgow subway station.

The 48-year-old was treated for a facial injury after being assaulted by two men on Woodville Street.

He was walking towards Ibrox underground station when he was targeted at around 4pm on Friday.

Emergency services attended the scene along with the police and the injured man was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Detective Sergeant Ainsley Clark said : “One of the men is described as being approximately 5ft6, with a slim build, and wearing a dark coloured cagoule style jacket with the hood up, a scarf covering his face and dark trousers. 

“The second man is described as being 5ft8 with a slim build, wearing a dark cagoule style jacket with hood up and dark trousers.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch with Police Scotland on 101, quoting 2358 of 31 January, 2020 speak to any police officers.”
