A man who was jailed after a Glasgow shopping centre murder has died in prison.
John Paul Bird stabbed John Bulloch, 40, at the Springburn Shopping Centre in May 2014.
Following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow, Bird was found guilty of the killing and jailed for a minimum of 18 years.
The 42-year-old died on August 11 whilst serving his sentence at HMP Addiewell.
A fatal accident inquiry, which is held after every death in custody, will now take place.
A Scottish Prison Service spokesperson said: “Every death, whether in prison custody or in our communities, is a tragedy for all those who knew and supported the individual.
“Following the death of someone in our care, Police Scotland are advised, and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal. Fatal Accident Inquiries are held in due course.”
