A man has been left injured after he was stabbed on New Year’s Eve.
The 41-year-old was walking in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire at around 8.30pm on Tuesday when the attack took place.
He was approached by another man who assaulted him with a bladed weapon.
After the incident the victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
Detective constable Anthony Cunningham, Cambuslang CID, said: “This was a violent attack and officers are currently working to obtain a description of the suspect.
“We appealing for anyone who may have been in the area that night to come forward with any information.
“It was early on in the evening and many people would have been out and about heading to celebrate the New Year.
“Think back, did you see anyone in the area?”
