A man has been left with permanent scarring after being assaulted by two other men in Renfrewshire.
The attack took place around 9.15pm on Friday in Church Street, Johnstone.
The 26-year-old victim was set upon by two men then later taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to have a serious injury treated.
Police said the injury will cause permanent scarring and have appealed for any witnesses who saw a group of young men in the area at that time.
One of the attackers is described as being in his late teens or early 20s, with dark hair and wearing a grey tracksuit.
The second man was wearing black tracksuit bottoms and a black T-shirt.
Detective Constable Liam Rodgers said: “The victim has been left with an injury which will cause permanent scarring.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and who saw anything suspicious or saw a group of young men around that time to come forward.”
