A man has been left with “multiple lacerations” after a serious assault in a railway station in East Dunbartonshire.
Officers were alerted to the incident that happened at Westerton railway station around 1am on Saturday.
British Transport Police confirmed that a man has been assaulted by two men at the sation.
The victim, a man in his forties, received multiple lacerations which required medical treatment but are not thought to be “life changing or threatening”.
Officers are now appealing for information regarding the two men involved in the assault.
Both men are described as white in their late teens to early twenties, one wore a black tracksuit, the other in a North Face grey tracksuit.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 78 of March 2.
“Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
