Suspect arrested as man rushed to hospital after city centre attack

A 31-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

A man has been seriously injured following an attack in Glasgow city centre.

Officers were called to reports of a serious assault at around 12.20am on Monday, March 4 on Union Street in the city centre.

A 31-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries. 
 
A second man, aged 22, was also taken to hospital for treatment.

A third man, aged 26, has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Phillip Kennedy said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing.

“There were members of the public in the area at the time, and I would ask that anyone who witnessed the incident, that hasn’t already spoken to police, to please come forward.
 
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Stewart Street CID via 101, quoting incident number 0046 of March 4, 2024.”
