A man who caused his innocent partner to be arrested after pretending to be her to share videos of women showering has been jailed for 32 months.

Stephen Mould, 32, made a hole in a washbag and placed the recording device inside the bathroom of a property in Glasgow’s Shawlands.

The 32-year-old filmed two unsuspecting victims as they got washed between 2012 and 2016.

He kept the recordings for years and went on to move in with his partner, who held a well paid, respectable job.

Mould – posing as the woman, but using a fake name for her – went on to send the clips to a fellow paedophile, who was later caught with the videos.

This initially led to Mould’s partner being arrested and detained by police – before being found to have done nothing wrong.

Mould has now appeared in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

He pled guilty to charges of recording the women without consent as well as possession of indecent images of children.

Sheriff Joan Kerr ordered Mould to be placed under supervision for two years upon his release from prison.

The court previously heard that Mould previously knew the two women he had secretly filmed.

The crime came to light after a sex offender was arrested by police in Essex in April 2024.

He was found to have chatted about child abuse to a person using the name Alice.

This individual claimed to be working in a hospital in England and was married to a man from Glasgow called Stephen.

The person sent pictures of a male which were found to be images of Mould.

Prosecutor Danielle McGuinness said: “The individual known as ‘Alice’ admitted using spy cameras to capture friends using the shower at her home.

“A screenshot of a Nivea washbag with a small hole in it was sent.

“Inquiries found out that the woman (who is not named Alice) stayed with Mould.

“As a result, police arrested and detained her. She believed that he (Mould) may be responsible.

“A check of her devices found that there was no offending identified.

“She told officers that she had separated from her partner who was residing in Glasgow with his parents.”

Officers attended Mould’s family home and a search took place in April 2024.

A number of electronic devices including laptops and a hard drive were seized for examination.

These were found to contain incriminating photos and videos.

Ms McGuinness added: “The devices showed the women in the shower. They did not appear to know they were being recorded.”

Both victims were later informed by the police and were able to identify themselves from the footage.

Also found on the devices were images of a man performing a sex act.
