Man sentenced to five years after robbery in Scottish Highlands Police

A 23-year-old man has been sentenced after he was convicted of a robbery near Kiltarlity in the Highlands.

Kyle Rossiter was given a five years and seven months in prison at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday.

The robbery happened on Monday, October 19, 2020, when a group of five men gained entry to a property before threatening the occupants with a weapon.

A five-figure sum of cash was also stolen during the incident.

Detective chief inspector Craig Still said: “This was an extremely terrifying ordeal for Rossiter’s victims and he will now have to face the consequences of his despicable actions.

“I would also like to take the opportunity to thank the public for their assistance with this enquiry.

“Threatening behaviour and robbery will not be tolerated in our area and we will always work tirelessly to ensure that such offenders are brought before the courts.”
