A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after an early morning slashing in Hamilton.
Emergency services were called to the Dixon Street area at around 1am on Tuesday following reports of a man being injured in an incident involving a bladed weapon.
A 40-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the incident, while an investigation is ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1am on Tuesday, May 19, officers were called to Dixon Street in Hamilton after a man was found with serious injuries. The 40-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.
“A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
