A car has been stolen after a man entered a property in Cumbernauld.

Police Scotland said the theft happened at around 5.30am on Thursday.

The force said a man entered a property on Tiree Road before stealing a grey Honda Civic, registration FD67 GTU.

The suspect is described as around 5ft 10ins, of medium build with short, dark hair.

He was wearing a blue tracksuit with a black stripe down the side and black and white trainers.

It is believed he drove off in the vehicle which was seen around 5.55am in the Springfield Road area.

Sergeant Greig McKail said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to trace the suspect and the vehicle and we are appealing to the public for help.

“We believe the Honda has sustained damage to the front bumper and we are asking anyone who comes across it to get in touch with officers.

“Likewise, if you have seen the vehicle or the suspect then please make contact with officers.”

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0574 of Thursday, August 10.
