Officers are searching for three men after a 56-year-old suffered a facial injury in an attack in Clydebank.
The incident happened on Arran Place around 3.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
The 56-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment to a facial injury sustained in the attack.
Police are looking to identify three men in connection with the incident, who are described as being black and in their 20s.
The first was around 6ft tall and of slim build. He was wearing a thin black jacket with the hood up, a bright yellow hi-vis vest, black joggers and black trainers.
The second was around 5ft 10in, of slim build and wearing a black tracksuit with the hood up.
The third was around 6ft tall and of stocky build. He was wearing a light blue Nike tracksuit with a black tick and black trainers.
Detective Constable Calum Hall said: “We believe the area would have been busy at the time due to nearby shops and a fast food restaurant so we would urge anyone who saw this incident, or who may have footage, to get in touch.
