Detectives are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted in Renfrewshire.
Police were called after reports of a 21-year-old man being attacked by two men within a house on Grampian Avenue, Paisley, around 12.20am on Sunday morning.
Officers attended and the injured man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he is being treated for a facial laceration.
Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.
Detective constable Karen Smith of Paisley Police Station said: “We have been carrying out enquiries in the area of Grampian Avenue and we are gathering local CCTV footage to help us with our investigation and identify the two men responsible.
“After the attack, the two men may have left in a dark car, and at this time we are working to establish if this is the case and trace any vehicle.
“I would ask anyone in the area, or anyone driving nearby with dash-cam footage who saw a dark-coloured car to contact us.”
