A man has been taken to hospital for treatment after he was seriously assaulted in an early morning incident in the city centre of Glasgow.
Police say the incident happened around 1am on Saturday on Sauchiehall Street near the junction with Garnet Street.
Detectives say the area was busy as people would have been out to watch Scotland’s World Cup clash with Morocco.
They are appealing for anyone who may have saw the incident to contact them.
Detective Sergeant Sean Mcloughlin said: “The area was busy at the time and we believe a number of people may have witnessed the incident. We are appealing to anyone who saw what happened, or who has any information, to contact us.
“We’d also ask anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage which could assist our enquiries to come forward.”
