A man is to appear in court after a firearm and ammunition were recovered from a vehicle in North Lanarkshire.

On Thursday, road policing officers stopped a vehicle on Rosehall Road in Bellshill and a firearm and ammunition were recovered.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection.

He is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday, April 11.
