A man convicted of historical child abuse stretching back almost 60 years has been jailed.
James Bryson was sentenced to ten years at the High Court in Glasgow on Monday.
The 69-year-old – who has a terminal illness and uses a wheelchair – was found guilty of attacks on four children between December 1969 and November 1994.
He initially preyed on a girl at a flat in the north of Glasgow.
Bryson, of Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, went on to rape the same child.
Bryson further indecently assaulted a young boy at another flat in the city.
He molested a second girl and then abused a third.
Bryson was convicted of five charges following a trial earlier this year.
Judge Matthew Jackson KC told Bryson he had committed “truly horrifying sexual offences”.
He added: “Your denial of responsibility reflects poorly on you.”
The judge further stated those involved remain “profoundly affected” by their ordeal.
Bryson was put on the sex offenders list. He is also banned from approaching or contacting the victims.
