A manhunt has been launched after a woman was sexually assaulted in Lockerbie on Sunday.
A 30-year-old woman was walking on Dumfries Road, at around 7.10pm.
As she passed the junction with St Brydes Terrace, she was approached by a man who then attacked her.
The assailant fled in the direction of the town’s Main Street.
He is described as a white male, around 5ft 5 in tall, of medium build, wearing a dark jumper, blue jeans, and a baseball cap.
Police Scotland said an investigation is ongoing.
Constable Broomfield said: “This was a distressing incident which left the victim understandably shaken.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to get in touch.”
