A manhunt has been launched for an individual who entered a shop in Renfrew with a possible firearm on Thursday.
Emergency services were called to Canal Street at around 2.45pm after they were alerted to the incident.
There were no reported injuries following the disturbance.
An investigation is ongoing to trace the man who was believed to be carrying a firearm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.45pm on Thursday, February 19, 2026, we received a report of a man entering a premises on Canal Street in Renfrew with what appeared to be a firearm.
“Officers attended, and no injuries have been reported.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace the man and anyone with information or concerns can approach officers.”
