A search is under way after a car was abandoned following a police chase on Thursday.

At around 1.30pm a blue Ford Fiesta failed to stop on Glasgow’s Queen Margaret Drive after it was signalled to do so by officers.

A short pursuit took place resulting in the car colliding with a BMW on Maryhill Road and leaving the scene.

The Ford Fiesta was discovered abandoned on Hopehill Road. An investigation is still ongoing to trace the occupants of the car.

A Police Scotland said: “Around 1.30pm on Thursday, January 30, 2025, a blue Ford Fiesta failed to stop for officers on Queen Margaret Drive, Glasgow.

“A short pursuit took place, resulting in the Ford Fiesta crashing with a BMW on Maryhill Road and then leaving the scene. The Ford Fiesta was later traced in Hopehill Road.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the occupants of the Ford Fiesta.”
