A man’s body has been discovered inside a van which caught fire on an industrial estate in North Ayrshire.
Emergency services were called to Telford Place in Irvine around 2.20pm on Saturday afternoon following reports of a van fire.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent one fire engine to the scene, while police were also in attendance.
The fire was extinguished and the man’s body was discovered within the vehicle.
The man’s family have been notified.
The death is not believed to be suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.20pm on Saturday, May 30, 2026, we were called to a report of a van on fire on Telford Place in Irvine.
“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
“The body of a man was found within. His family is aware.
“The death is not believed to be suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.18pm on Saturday, May, 30 to reports of an incident on Telford Place in Irvine.
“Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance to the area to support emergency service partners.”
