STV NewsA man has been found dead in a flat in Motherwell in “suspicious” circumstances, police say.
Emergency services were called to a block of flats on Shields Court at around 4.30pm on Monday.
Images shared with STV News show forensics officers on the scene with police sealing off the area.
A 27-year-old man was found dead within a property. His next of kin are aware and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Police are treating the death as suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.30pm on Monday, December 15, 2025, police were called to a property on Shields Court in Motherwell, where a 27-year-old man was found deceased within.
“Next of kin are aware and being supported by specially trained officers.
“Following initial enquiries, his death is being treated as suspicious.
“An investigation has been launched to establish the full circumstances.”
