A man required treatment in hospital for serious facial injuries after being assaulted outside a pub in Coatbridge.
The 20-year-old victim suffered a broken jaw and required extensive medical treatment following the attack on Saturday, July 18.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened outside a pub on the town’s Main Street at around 11.15pm.
Detective David Williamson, Coatbridge CID, said: “As far as we are aware, this was a totally unprovoked attack in which this young man’s jaw was broken.
“At the moment the attacker is only described as a white man in his early 20s. Officers are checking CCTV from the area which shows a large group of people outside the pub and the disturbance spilling on to the street.
“A number of cars and taxis can be seen having to swerve to avoid the disturbance and so I would appeal to the drivers, especially those with dashcams, to get in touch with police if they think they may have information or footage that will help officers with their investigation.”
Anyone with information can contact Coatbridge CID via 101 quoting reference number 3248/25/20. Alternatively, details can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
