A masked man threatened a shop worker before making off with a sum of money in North Lanarkshire.
Police are appealing for information into the incident that took place on Main Road in Condorrat in Cumbernauld on Wednesday night.
The suspect entered the premises at around 8.15pm and forced the staff member to open a cash register before taking money from it.
He then made off on foot towards the Condorrat Ring Road area.
The man is described as white with a heavy build and speaking with a Scottish accent.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black jacket and a green or grey hoodie underneath with the hood up.
He also wore a black face covering, blue surgical gloves, black trousers and white trainers.
Officers attended and a search of the area was carried out.
Enquiries remain ongoing to identify and trace the suspect.
Detective Constable Scott Archer, of Coatbridge CID said: “Fortunately no-one was injured as a result of this incident, but it was an incredibly frightening experience for the staff member involved.
“Our enquiries are ongoing, and we urge anyone who may have seen a man matching this description or noticed any suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
“I would also ask anyone with private CCTV, doorbell or dashcam to review their footage and share anything that may assist our investigation.
